I noticed our company internet router is only running 10mbps. Its plugged into a Netgear GigE Smartswitch. I installed this new switch a few weeks ago to cope with the traffic, now im starting to think our internet connection is being bottlenecked by this

Any reason why its only connected at 10mbps? The server and workstations are all running on 100/1000 no problems.

Could it be a QoS setting, bandwidth allocation?

Are you use a CAT5e cable or a CAT3? CAT3 will knock it down or bad cable. Cat 5 or 7 should be fine.

Is your router using Jumbo packets and the switch is not may cause a problems but I have not seen this.

Check your LAN settings, you may not have it set to auto, or you should beable to force the connection up. Make sure you use a min of 2m cable between the router an switch. Short cables can cause problems.

Probably because it's max capability on the WAN side is less than that? What's the make/model?

What router is it? Check you duplex settings. Does the router support 100Meg full duplex?
