    I bought a new D Link WBR 2310 G router.

    My notebook has B wireless.

After setting up the router the notebook could not detect the router.

I installed SP3 and there was no change is router detection.

When I tried to manually configure the connection with , there was no WPA option.

The router is working with a desktop (G wifi) and a PDA (B wifi).

What can I do to get the notebook to work on the new router?

I agree with nobscot6, the model of the nic would be helpful.

I'll pile on, too. What make/model of laptop are you using? Notwithstanding the the notebook couldn't detect the network either before or after installing SP3 (which, contrary to the implication of your title, would seem to rule out SP3 as the cause), could you configure for WPA before installing SP3?
