    Hi guys

I just bounght Netgear "624" and as part of their package they are offering their own security package. On the side of the box - it says that "Unistall of the preexisting firewall or any antivirus software is required"

I have not hooked up this router yet, but I do not want to instal their security package because i have my own that I already paid for

Will I be able to still instal this router without using their security or will I have to follow their instructions in rder for the router to work properly and be secured on the network at the same time

    Thank you

    Thank God

So in other words what they mean is in order to use their software you have to unistall any of your own previous software

And if you do not want to, then stick with what you have and use our router?

    think of it this way...

the router and any applications (antivirus, firewall, etc.) operate at different levels. the router doesn't care what OS you're running or what a/v you have or what brand of firewall you are using.

all you have to plug the router into your LAN and do some minor configuration (security, IP addressing scheme, etc.) and go.

software, OSs, etc, are all irrelevant to a router because it just deals with packets of data
