    Hi everyone,

I own a trendnet TEW432BRP. Consistently, this thing has been the biggest piece of junk ever since I bought it, but it only cost me like 3 bucks a few years back. I now have a new router, but I wanna see if I can make use of this one.

The only thing is, it has stopped working. Whenever I plug it in, most of the lights come on and just stay on. When I search for it, I can't find it. I've tried resetting it, kept it unplugged, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Has it just kicked the bucket? Can anything be done? Thanks so much in advance.

See if you can reset it somehow... sometimes a button press inside a pin hole + Power ON combination... check the manual. And perhaps a firmware update. Also, confirm that its default LAN-side IP address does not conflict with your new router/LAN. And, IF connecting it to your new LAN, use a crossover cable LAN port to LAN port, if a regular cable does not work (if a port does not auto sense TX and RX lines)... and disable its gateway/DHCP/routing functions (do this before connecting it).

And be prepared to recycle it.

Probably kicked the bucket. I don't know much about trendnet, but I can tell you in the majority of consumer routers, when a number of the LED's are solid without anything but power plugged in, it is a code letting the manufacturer know which hardware part inside is most likely faulty. You may be able to find a service manual or search for code throws by your router's part#.

GK the thing is, I can't access it's webpage or anything. And it broke before I got a new router. One day I came home and the internet was down. When I tried resetting it, nothing happened. It's basically a paperweight that lights up right now. I'm probably just going to chuck it, but wanted to see if there was any hope left for it.

    Thanks anyways guys.
