My internal wireless card died a few months ago for my Thinkpad X60, and I am shopping around for a replacement. It uses the mini PCI-express slot. I noticed there was a large selection of wireless cards available for the mini PCI slot, but I can not find many for mini PCI-express. I couldn't find any mini PCI-express network adapters that were above 54mbps. Can someone make a suggestion for a quality mini PCI-express network adapter?

By the way, my current non-working card is a
IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. It seems like a lot of other people are having problems with this adapter. Are there any solutions people have been using?

I'm using XP. I can find wireless networks and it says I'm connected to them, but I can't load webpages, connect to AIM, check email, or do anything else that requires an internet connection.

Have you confirmed your adapter is bad and not a firewall blocking your connection?

    1) Unistall the Intel driver & utility through Add/Remove Programs.
    2) Reboot.
    3) Install latest driver and utility from IBM website. There's also a newer BIOS from January available, if you haven't updated it yet.
