I want to remote desktop connect with the desktop on my network.

I installed and enabled all Windows Remote Desktop services on both my desktop and laptop.

I enter the IP of my desk in my laptops remote desktop connection wizard but always get an error.

I do not want to use VNC.

I just want to use Windows Remote Desktop connect.

Can anyone please shed light on this issue.

Both comps are running Win XP Home SP2 with latest updates.

    Thanks!

Can you ping the IP address of your desktop?

If not, are you running any sort of Firewall (MS, ZoneAlarm etc)?

I can ping it fine though.

Would it help if I told you im trying to connect through my router?

Im trying to connect to my desktop on my network.

My laptop is on my Linksys WRT54GS Wireless G network.

My desktop is connected to the back of the WRT54GS and my internet then plugs into the WRT54GS.

    Thats my network right there.

    Thanks
