Maybe someone knows about this stuff....worth a shot....

    I'm using a Verizon broadband wireless card ($60 5gb/mo).

I'm wondering how Verizon assigns IPs to the computer?
Does the IP get linked to what state you are connecting from?
    Or is that untraceable?

For example, I am currently connecting from California. Does my IP show that I am connecting from CA?

You would have to ask Verizon to get the real answer. I suspect it is like any other ISP, where they have a certain block of IP addresses for each cellular area and they are issued out on a first come, first served basis.

Go here and see where it thinks you are.

Yes, I just traced your IP and it showed the road runner server at California.
