I have a clevo p151sm1b, and despite getting 5 bars of signal strength, i get random disconnects at all hours of the day, but especially during the day (where there is more interference i guess). I can get disconnected even at 3 am. No newer drivers are available.

Someone suggested that i try upgrading my wireless card...could that possibly help? Its a RTL8723AE.

If yes, what card should I replace it with, that will give me a stable connection? Im using the campus wifi here, and I can get disconnected even at 3 am with no interference.

Also, does anyone know where the card is and how to upgrade it? The user manual does not mention it at all...

@Question2 try choosing 20MHz bandwidth in adapter settings, it may help. I use Intel, but they disconnect a lot with poor routers, which is likely the case.

Realtek is really poor as far as Wi-Fi cards go, so it's a safe bet it's the culprit.
I wouldn't look for anything fancy - something like Intel 6200 is you just want a decent card, if you want more it's an entirely different story.

Agreed, Realtek wifi cards are usually nothing short of junk.. The 6200 should work flawlessly..
