Pretty simple question here: when an asus rt-n66u is put into AP mode (so using it as a wap), do the lan ports on it still work?

So for example, room 1 has an N66U (main router) hardwired with cat6 to room 2, where there is another N66U in AP mode for the wireless coverage. However in room 2, there is a nas drive or something that should have another wired connection, and I want to plug it into the room 2 N66U (the one in AP mode). Will it all work as intended - will the nas drive be able to see/reside on the network as if it were just sitting on a switch?

It should work considering there are APs with multiple Ethernet ports.

That will work like downloads said. I've done that at home with two routers flashed with ddwrt.

Figured it would work but it can't hurt to doublecheck, thanks. Deploying about a dozen of these at our office soon - I own an older n13u that has never given me issues after slapping ddwrt on it, and I'm hoping that with these n66's I can rely on stock firmware for the same kind of reliability. It's between these or the wndr4500's, don't want to mess with draft ac stuff yet.

edit: one other question. In AP mode, will these still be able to (re)broadcast the SSID's/VLANS I'll be setting up? There will be 3 of them: the main secured network, a second (hidden) secure network for certain devices, and an open guest network. I'm assuming that in AP mode they will pull as much information as possible from the main N66, including the vlans?
