I am having trouble with 1 of my 2 laptops trying to print to the printer that is hooked up to my desktop.

1 of laptops works fine, found the network printer and printed out a test page... perfect

the other laptop (nc8510p) gives me an RPC server error when I try and print to the exact shared printer. I looked in services.msc and the Remote Call Procedure was started and similar to my other laptop (nc8430).

Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

What operating system is on the desktop? What operating systems are on the notebooks? Is everyone on the same workgroup? Are there identical users/passwords on all machines? Is RPC running as a local user or as an administrator on the problem machine? Are all machines running the same firewall/anti-virus software, and is configured the same?
