Basically I've a room that I want to know when people move into it, I've internet and power there.

I want a "box" (not NOT a webcam in combo with mac/pc), that I can plug in & hook up with local wifi, aim at the door and get an email!

I haven't come across what I want with google searches, most of the hits are from webcam and pc/mac combo's, which don't suit. Minimal maintenance is desirable!

    Many thanks,
    72oo

    Something like this maybe?

    Trendnet TV-IP501W

It says one of it's features is:
"Motion detection triggered email alerts and image upload via FTP "

This is a wifi IP camera which means that it connects to a wireless router. I believe you need a computer there to set it up and get it working but after that I don't believe you need a computer there.

I could be wrong. I've never worked on IP cameras before.
