It depends on which Qwest package you ordered.

    Comcast offers 2 internet packages:
    1) 6Mbps down / 384Kbps up
    2) 8Mbps down / 384Kbps up

Qwest also offers 2 internet packages:
    1) 7Mbps down / 896Kbps up
    2) 1.5Mbps down / 896Kbps up

I would say as long as you're satisfied and you are getting it at a better deal stick with that. I personally despise Comcast, but it's the only thing available for this apt complex.

see the thing is my parents are switching so we have the qwest phone and internet bundle. I was just wondering going form 8mb comcast to 7mb qwest would things like games and downloading be significantly slower?

you will probably find your 7meg DSL to be faster
if you look at it this way
Cable internet works in a node and each node gets so much bandwidth and when all your neighbors get on it slows down you might not notice it with 8meg but it does it is alot more noticeable when you have like 1.5 or 3meg

now DSL works differently you get a "dedicated Bandwidth pipe" meaning you get what you pay for. 7meg feels like 7meg as I have had both I prefered my DSL

With gaming the DSL will benifit you more because of the Higher upload bandwidth.

I would think that the Qwest 7 MB would be faster, as you are sharing the bandwidth with Comcast 8 MB.
