Ok..One of my friends is on a mission trip and staying at a college that has a wireless network (she is on a new Dell...unsure of the model). The network status says it is connected and signal is very good. However, when she tries to open IE it prompts for dial up..it also can not connect to MSN Messenger...she usually connects with dial up btw....I ran through it over the phone with her but I couldn't figure it out...network is not encrypted btw....any help would be very appreciated

It's been a while since I used dialup, but your friend probably has IE configured to use dialup networking. Have her go to the control panel and open Internet Options. Look under the Connections tab and she should be able to disable dialup and switch to LAN,
