    Hello,
    I just bought a linksys WRT54GS router
If I hook up my laptop by wire direct to the router, I get my download speed around 5.7Mbps. But if I use wireless connection I can only get around 1.5Mbps downstream. Is it normal??? why there is so big different ???
BTW : my laptop has intel pro wireless G card
    Please advise

That pretty normal for a 11g (54mbps) wireless. Out of the 54mbps - 5mbps (security) - 10mbps (over head) = 35mbps then remember this is 1/2 duplex. If you had one of their GS cards your you notebook your speeds should max out around 3mbps.
