Ok so when I have been inactive for a while the net just seems to lose connectivity. This is regardless as to whether I have got the cable in or if it is over the wireless. The problem I have is that the network just doesnt seem to respond. This happens both in Firefox and IE. I don't think it is a problem with the router as my girlfriends laptop works just fine and mine works fine again after I have restarted it. Have tried clearing the cache etc and disconnecting then reconnecting.
    P.s. Running Vista Ultimate.

Vista works fine. Not ME at all.

I suspect that your issue is related to your power options and how the network cards respond to being turned off and then told to wake back up.

Some notebooks had some issues with XP and Vista and going into and out of hibernation. There's been some BIOS upgrades and some XP and Vista patches that addressed this. Don't know for certain that is your issue, nor if it has been corrected on your particular hardware, but this is still my hunch as what the issue might really be.
