Hi, I recently purchased an Asus G50V-A1 and I noticed that when I am downloading something for a prolonged period of time or at a high rate. Earlier I disconnect while just downloading a youtube video and playing WoW. It seems that when this happens, I have to turn off wireless and turn it back on. Any ideas what's going on? Do I just have a faulty motherboard or something?

Are you using a router? If so is there a time out option that is enabled? If not then perhaps there is one in whatever wireless manager you are using on the computer?

Yes I am using a router, but all my other laptops, my friend's laptops, and my desktop don't disconnect. What are good timeout settings?

I am using the default windows vista manager.

Bump, this problem is getting kind of annoying, seems to happen when my connections increase.

I just tried to open a lolcat email and the 5 pictures disconnected me twice.

Well, I won't pretend to be an expert but I will try to help. I am guessing you are at your home and not at school per se. What brand of router do you have?

The best advice I can give you is make sure all of your drivers are up to date as possible... Also I'm not sure why timeout settings matter since your friends laptops and our other PCs don't disconnect..... what is the error message on disconnection? (Should be in your router log page)
