Hi, My 6000d arrived, and everything looks great.. BUT the wireless does not work!

I`ve tryied everything.. from reinstaling drivers, booting router, reinstalin the OS, everything... the most I could do is to get connection for 5 seconds..

everything seems to be fine, but it wont ping, or go anyware..
if i disable and enable, it will go in the first website i type (if I`m quicky) and go dead again.. (everything looks perfect, but wont go anywhere...)

its the 2200bg, i have read problems before.. i dont know what to do... i use wireless 100% of the time.. now wired (on the same router.), and everything is fine..

    any help would be appreaciated...
    thanks in advance

This a Wireless & Networking connection thread and not dell issue.

Did you try updating the firmware?

Try installing the 9.0.3.0 i believe.
Try installing different drivers for that card too. There is a huge thread on issues with this card in networking. The last few pages will answer your questions more.

    i did try others drivers..

sorry if i posted in the wrong forums.. I posted here because I`m pretty sure its a bug.. and i wanted to know if others with same setup already have it.

    UPDATE,
ok, i have two routers in my house.. one Netgear G and and a 3 years old Netgear B.. I`ve been using the G with no problems for a while.. but decided to check.. and guess what? its some sort of compatibility problem ... im browsing now on the Old router.. and i had 3 computers here on the other G with no problem.. but the dell wont work..

    wierd..

i`ll try to update the router AND wireless card firmware to see what happens..

Hmmmm, I'm not sure why he gets a scolding because he makes this post. Its the right place for it. But I agree, that long thread would be of value.

Roger: It was moved already before you posted so its in wireless now. I was going to add to that but the end of it...

Felipedana: I can back up 90% its the firmware and drivers, so also try different kinds of drivers with the 2200 card.

If the driver update doesn't solve the problem, if you have a firewall check to see if that's the culprit. My Sygate firewall security setting was set too high and kept on kicking me off. Another good thing to check is the power management option for the Intel card. The Centrino technology powers down by default; try taking it off default and setting it to highest.

i updated the firmware on the router and nothing......
also, its not a firewall problem.. It`s not enable..

I`ll try another (third) driver for the card.... any imput? i download the last one from dell and still does not work
