    Hello,

Can anybody helpme I have sony vaio laptop VGN7 series. I can see the wireless connection to the internet but still not able to browse the internet with either internet explorer or firefox. Last night when I was trying to repair the internet explorer it strangely connected to yahoo messenger but not to any of the webpages. It is so frustrating. Can anybody tell me what could be the reason.

    thanks

Any kind of internet security? (firewall? Norton Internet Security?)

Port 80 (Internet Port) is blocked. Its a firewall/router/ISP issue. Run Norton Removal Tool (your have to get it from another computer and transfer it over), get an elevated command prompt and type in netsh winsock reset catalog and then restart. Check the router and possibly bring it back to factory settings if possible.

Some might tell you to open command prompt and try to ping something but if port 80 is blocked it will not work.
