I have a BT homehub and the laptop in my sig, when i turn it on it connects to the internet fine and everything works fine. But after about 30 minutes webpages stop loading, in all 3 of my browsers, however Azurues will still download and ares does.
I jst installed windows Vista ultimate sp1 and have the lastest drivers for my wireless card, and had no problems at first.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help guys

Does the connection cut out? I have a similar problem... though not on a 30 minute basis. Every once in a while (1-2 times per day), the internet will just cut out and stop loading stuff. I check my wireless connection, and it's fine. I always just disable then re-enable the wireless connection, and viola, it works. Give it a shot.

I'm at a loss as to the reason for it.

One of the first things I would check is to make sure you do not have any sort of virus or malicious software that could be hijacking your connection. A few good programs are ZoneAlarm, Spy-Bot, and Avast. You can get them from Filehippo dot com reliably.

Does the browser just fail to connect after 30 minutes and does everything else work, like AIM messenger, or Yahoo messenger?

Do you use any other BT devices while using the BT internet connection?

Download this hot fix and install it. This can sometimes fix the issue
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933872

    A few things to try:

    1. Update your Windows to the latest updates.

    2. Boot your computer into safe mode and check your BT connection to see if it is working properly.

I have avast and zonealarm already installed, and there are no ther devices using the BT connection, Msn and other things still work but i cant load webpages in opera or firefox, i have the latest updates, ill install that fix n hope for the best. That patch appears to be for recovering from sleep mode thats not my problem or do u think it would help anyway?

Do you get any error messages? And what's the usage on your networking resources when this occurs (taskmanager can show basic network usage by interface)?

Try to release and renew the IP addresses and see if Internet works using either browser, if it does then somehow your are having issues in keeping up with the DHCP and DNS server, and that could be caused by many reasons, since you are using Bittorrent, check in your wireless adapter the TCP/IP or other protocol settings, I personally don't use BitTorrent but it could be that is either not well setup or just conflicting with other protocols.

i only started having these probelsm when i did a clean install of Vista Ultimate SP1, i have home premium without sp1 on beforte hand and everything worked really well, no problems. I have installed all of the drivers from acers site and still the probelm persists. Also now opera keeps crashing and never closes, the only way to get it to close is to do a hard reset of the laptop. Where can i get a copy of vista home premium as i ahve the lisesence for it as it came preloaded on my laptop. Ive tried everything to get this version of vista to work, so the only option i ahve left is to do a fresh install right?

i know you're having problems but don't bail out yet! How long have you had ultimate installed?

Have you downloaded all the Windows updates?

As to a copy of premium, do you not have a recovery partition or something like that?
