    Hello

I am sorry; this message if not strictly related to the notebook genre. But since I am familiar with this forum, I will attempt to explain a problem of mine.

Last night, I was on Firefox (my primary browser) on a Freenode IRC server as well as several other websites. I run my notebook on a dial-up connection. That night, a window appeared saying my dial-up connection had been running idle for twenty minutes. After that, my connection disconnected itself. After reconnecting and opening up Firefox, I was again affronted with another popup window which told me Firefox had stopped working, and had to shut itself down. It would look for causes of the problem, but of course, what to expect on Windows, no problems were found as usual.

This nonsense repeated as I kept using Firefox last night. My Internet Explorer also does the same. It closes itself off for no reason, with just a warning window to view like Firefox. After reconnecting, restarting my notebook, the problem continued, and it is hindering use of the Internet as well as bringing fears of harmful malware.

Today, a fresh new start, my Firefox browser continues to do the same. As does IE. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the browsers, but my dial-up connection "Diagnose and Repair" feature is useless.

So here I am, highlighting and copying this message every minute just in case the browser blanks off.

Dearest thanks for suggestions to the problem. This has not happened before. Today I have run CCleaner and Spybot Search and Destroy, with no results.

Sounds like you may have a worm.........

That or your power management changed, and turning things off. I have heard of 1 report that MS's last update doing that to some Vista users.

Could be your dial-up is disconnecting you. Have you turned off your call waiting feature.
