I wonder if anyone could give me some advice? I am a pretty amateur IT type having problems with my wireless connection.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with an Intel Pro 2200bg wireless connector. I have a DG834g Netgear router.

The problem I am having is that I have I can't connect the wireless to the router to use the internet. I have had to manually configure the wireless connection to even get it to connect and it sends packets to the router but doesn't receive any.

The Intel Pro 2200bg is 9.0.4.17 whatever that means!! What am I doing wrong and how to I fix it. I have temporarily installed the Netgear Wireless adaptor which is working fine but I would like to get the Intel one working properly.

Please make the explanations simple for me as I can only understand the basics!

    Thanks in advance.

Can you elaborate on "i can't connect"? When using the Intel Pro 2200bg what happens when you try to connect to the wireless network? Are you just not getting an IP from it?

Are you using windows to manage the device or the IntelProSet Wireless Software from intel? Or a 3rd party proggy?

Have you checked the support site for your router and see if there is an fireware updates available? Not all brands of adapters function properly with all routers, especially ADSL ones I've noticed.
