I recently reinstalled Windows and the drivers on my one week old V2000z. But now, when I try to connect to my wireless router, it just sits at "aquiring network address." And my IP address is all zeros. I remember when I first got it, it connected right away. What did I do wrong or what do I need to do? Should I just try over again and reinstall XP?

Did you try downloading your cards drivers directly from Compaq's website?

Why don't you check the router? It's not easy to mess up a network card unless you have hit the notebook somewhere.
Btw, if you have run Windows Update, why don't you try removing some updates. I had a problem with my sound card once after running Windows Update but I found the faulty update and simply uninstalled it.

We will assume you are trying to connect with a security protocol setup right?? Is it WEP or WPA? Since these broadcom wireless NICs are new with the Turion, there may be some issues. I have an issue with my D-Link (pos) wireless router when trying to connect via WPA encryption. However this is a documented issue with my specific router and not my wireless NIC.

    Do this,
1 - Unsecure your wireless router and try to connect with it toally open (i.e. no security enabled)
2 - Update the firmwear for the router via manuf. website.
3 - go into advanced settings for the wireless card, find the list of used wireless networks. Delete yours and then refresh the avail. wireless networks.
4 - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SP2 INSTALLED!! WPA will NOT work unless you have this installed!!!!!
    4- Shorten your password
5 - Give up on trying to get WPA to work, and just use WEP. WEP is not as prone to "hacking" as everyone leads you to believe. The likely hood is very slim, and doing it is a pain in the ass. Also requiring someing to A) use linux and know how to use linux B) lots of time on their hands C) requires 2gigs of traffic to even get anywhere. DON"T WORRIE ABOUT IT!

Let me know if this doesn't work..

    Can I get a wittness (rep-point) !!
