I upgraded the wifi card in my Asus 1005ha to a half sized 5300agn, and added an extra 2 antennas. I've tried reseating it, but the connection speed on my wireless n network hovers between 5 and 65Mbps. Even when its at 65Mbps it still feels extremely slow. What could be the reason ?
    thanks

Use WPA2 Personal AES security for the best speed. You may also want to scan other wireless AP in your areas, then change channels if needed.

You sure you plugged the antennas correctly?

Where did you run the other 2 antennas?

Also check the wireless cards device manager advanced settings.

i turned off power management and changed roaming aggressiveness and transmit power to highest. now the speed hovers around 130mbs. Im pretty sure the antennas are plugged in correctly. Another laptop on my network reaches 300mbs. I read somewhere that if replacing the wifi card, the brand must match the atheros chipset it replaced. Do i need to use an atheros card to reach 300mbs?
