    i just got a new vista HP desk top. & i have 2 XP Hp desktop & a laptop be i can't get them to network with the vista.. i'm useing a linksys router.. can you please give me a step by step help. thank you

    What are you trying to do? Are you trying to share from the HP with Vista? Or are you trying to connect to the XP machines from the Vista machine?
    did you enable the sharing options in Vista (network discovery, file sharing, etc) in Network and Sharing Center?
    Can the XP machines connect to shares on the other XP machines?
    Unfortunately, you haven't provided many details on the exact issue.

    upgrade the XP machines to service pack 3 and set Vista's network to private and enable file sharing. After that you should be able to connect Vista and XP computers together.

    There are othe ways of enabling file sharing, but the above method is probably the easiest.
