Im trying to network my printer so I can print from my laptop in the other room. I have my HP printer hooked up to my Dell desktop. I have Sharing on and my laptop detects it. But when I go to print it asks me for a password and username. There is no password though. Ive tried Admin/Admin - Admin/Password and my desktops user password. nothing works. I tried Windows Trouble shooting but its telling me to click something that isnt there.

Im using Windows XP on my desktop and Vista on my laptop. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Turn off password protected sharing in the Vista Network and Sharing center.

I recromend Network Magic to network your printers easily. Also has a network map.
