This discussion board was so useful with my last question I thought I would return to ask another. I am in the process of constucting my first home wireless network and have ordered a linksys router and pci card. I will need a print server (does not have to be wireless)that will work with a lexmark z51 bi directional parallel printer. I have read a lot of feedback from people that hate the linksys printer servers. Keep in mind that I know very little about networking. Any recommendations. Thanks in advance. Bob Smith
PS I don't plan on operating the printer near a desk top unit, the printer will be near the router. I will be upgrading to a new usb printer, maybe all in one, in the near future, just can't afford to now.

If you are going to be using the printer near a stationary computer, you can simply plug the printer into this computer and share it. The downside is this computer would have to be on whenever you want to print. There are planty of decent print servers out there, both wireless and wired if this option is not going to work for you. I have my printer shared on my desktop and have not had any problems with this setup.

I am looking into a wireless printer server. However if it is as hard to configure as a wifi extender which I returned, I am not going for it. I bought a 11 DBI multidirectional antenna which is awesome.
