This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Pre-N Mini-PCI cards? (not mini PCI Express)

    Does anybody know of any Mini-PCI Pre-N or Draft-N cards that I can swap into my Sony VAIO TX laptop? There are a lot of options for Mini-PCI Express (intel 4965, for instance), but none that I've found for the older style Mini-PCI slots.

    I'm not interested in a PCMCIA card, either, as that sticks out the side and looks funny on an otherwise gorgeous notebook.

    I also realize that I'd have to run a third antenna to the card, and that's not an issue for me.
