The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

I use Linksys but think I can give you three of the four fields, which appears to be all you need:

    Start Port = 6112
    End Port = 6112
I.P. Address = address of the machine in question

    Then click save.

You can find the address of the machine by running the command (CMD) box and typing "ipconfig" without the quotation marks.

The address should look something like 168.192.1.101, for example.

Then test your port is forwarded either using a test w/i your torrent client or on the web (uTorrent tests this for me with it's own utility).

    Here is my DIR-655 setup.
application name is in the drop down list 'application name'
You just need to change the IP address to your computers one, use the drop down list "Computer name'
Then change the port that needs forwarding. (both TCP and UDP)

    Then enjoy speedy torrents :)
