Alright before everyone post links about how to Port forward read this.

First the reason I would like to port forward is to host Warcraft III games. Yeah I know its not necessary but I would like to.

Here is the setup. There is a Linksys router that is NOT being used as a router. For some reason it is being used a switch/hub (don't ask I have no idea why). Now the router is a Zyxel P-645. And keep in mind through this that the windows firewall built into windows XP has been disabled. I have tried this on both my Vista machine and my XP machine.

I have gone through and opened ports 6112-6119. on the 645 and the Linksys. I then checked the open ports by doing the "Net stat -a" command into the command prompt. The 6112 port is listening! Now I start up Warcraft III running on port 6112 and try to host a game but it is as if the port is not open.

The problem does not lie in Warcraft III setup or the computer set up I am pretty sure it is in the router set up. I have successfully and easily fowarded ports on the router at my house but this one is giving me some problems.

I have contacted both Zyxel (Prestige) and the ISP. The Zyxel service people told me to contact my ISP. Ihen went and had an online chat with the ISP where they told me that the problem is with Prestige. Wow! -_-

I am starting to think that the Zyxel 645 doesn't allow port forwarding. It is an old router. If that is the case does anyone know any quick solutions?

So, I figured I would ask the pros on this forum whats wrong. If you guys can't find the problem no one can. Thanks in advance.

in linsky, i have to disable all security settings in the security part. so you might want to try it if there is one. also you can use dmz but use firewall.
i don't know about the router. but can you go into the settings of it??

Have you tried replacing the Linksys with just an ordinary switch?
Have you tried telnet into the server from outside your local network (telnet public IP address:6112)?
Here's the User Guides for the ZyXEL P-645.
