Alright, so right now I have a wired network with two PC's and my xbox, but I have a laptop on the way. So I went out and purchases a wireless router. It's a lynxis WRT54G. The set up process goes great on the CD they provided all the way up till the point where I selected a password for my network, then it tries to finalize my connection and says it can't find it, and it tells me to turn off and on my modem. I do that and it still complains that it cant find the internet and to try it again. Any suggestions??? When I turn off the modem with everything connected, the computer recognizes that It lost connection, but it still can't access the internet.

PS. I did try to search and couldn't find anything right away.

I would forget about the password, make it an unsecured network

Personally, ditch the CD...that thing doesn't work well at all.

Hard reset the router (as in look for the reset button on the bottom and push it for 30 seconds). Connect it to the desktop with an Ethernet cord, and type '192.168.1.1' into IE or Firefox or whatever you use. You'll find a fairly easy GUI and all the options you need to set up a network. The only ones you should have to change will show up in a link like "Wireless LAN" or "Wireless Security" or similar.

I would highly recommend a password because if you do not, other people will be able to steal some of your bandwidth and get their internet at your expense.
