    Hi,

There's something wrong with my friend's computer and been a total noob she can't tell me what it is...

I was wondering how I could see his screen on my computer and control the cursor e.t.c. Like RM Tutor or PC Anywhere

Except I have a maximum budget of £0.00.

I've tried Real VNC but the free version is absolutely RUBBISH!

    Many thanks,

    MTI

RealVNC is garbage. I would recommend UltraVNC. www.ultravnc.com
It's free, and has every feature. The same company has provided team viewer. This is the same kind of application, but it goes to a website so there's no need to reconfigure your routers, I like it a ton. www.teamviewer.com

I can also help with questions about it, windows also has one that comes with it, but teamviewer is your best bet.

Lol, because I saw you answering a 2007 post, but I just realized that the OP probably has his computer clock wrong, I don't know.

sometime, the built in windows help system is adequate.

You didn't mention what OSs you are both using, but assuming they are both windows xp or vista, remote assistance ought to work just fine--it will even connect through some limited firewalls, depending.

The procedure is slightly different so you will have too look it up since you did not mention the OSs

Remote Assistance is surprisingly robust...I actually was working on a client's computer this afternoon through his satellite internet--which I expected to be very cumbersome, but it worked quite well.

Not only was I able to connect to the client computer, I was able to then run a remote desktop connection from the client to the client's server to fix and issue--and while not a screaming fast connection, it worked.

msn messenger also supports desktop sharing through xp or vista.

    Very solid performance.

Oh, that's because there was an A****** digging up old post and new ones too that spoke of Remote Software and posting about some software that u could pay for bah blah blah...Anyhow the user's name was "TechofTheDay" so I was replying to his/her posts basically saying that logmein is free so why pay for this type of service...etc And obviously the nut job deleted all the post he/she made. For example take a look at this post in my THREAD, where I was replying to their comment earlier today. I did a search for his/her username and THIS was the results...you can see the person did make post from the search results but when u click the links nothing is there...because they deleted their posts . I guess "they" were bored!

Edit: I even QUOTED the fool!
