I am having 2 major problems with my internet connectivity. I have a gateway 6860fx with 64 bit vista.

For the first couple of months I was using the Norton Internet security free trial, but then i installed McAFee and uninstalled Norton. However, after uninstalling norton and installing mcaffee I did a system restore. If i search for Norton, it comes up, but i can't actually open it.

    Now for the 2nd problem.

I can connect to the internet via internet explorer, but my itunes store will not connect. I also cannot get mcaffee to connect to the internet to get the patch so that i can install it. It says "There was a problem downloading your McAfee programs." My windows firewall is off, but when I open limewire it says i have a firewall on.

I really need to figure this out so i can get a antivirus instaled, but I am having major problems. I know i'm not the most computer savvy person in the world but please help.

    thanks

Norton screws everything up - when installed AND uninstalled..

They actually have an external uninstaller Google Remove Norton - and d/l off their official website, it might remove all traces left by norton on your pc

If not, you may have to do a clean install - but this sounds as norton's registry domination - i.e. registry mechanic after norton external-uninstaller download may help

Edit here it is called Norton Removal Tool
