    Dear Sir/Madam,
In my panasonic toughbook cf50 at the moment i have intel pro 2100 3b mini wifi card (11Mbps). I bought an Intel Pro 2915ABG so i can have at least 54Mbps.
I removed the old card inserted the new card connected the both ant wires easy. Upon restart i noticed that the centrino logo that appears on the panasonic screen on start up (bottom right hand corner)had been replaced with a pentium m instead.Strange...

im running xp pro sp3 and the machine found new hard ware i fed i the drivers joy!

The card does't work it's showing in device manager etc but doesn't work...

    any sugestions?

so i put the old card back in the centrino logo reappears the old 2100 wifi card work's . i'm puzzled!

the 2915abg is not from panasonic is this why it's not oem etc

    please help !

    Kindest Regards,
    John Gray

The newer Intel card is not part of the old centrino hardware that the bios needs to see to show the logo
You will notice you will not see the wireless network card enable/disable in the bios with the Intel 2915ABG
Don’t worry its fine ,that’s the way it is
The Intel 2100b card is horrible , you will have longer range and more throughput with the new card

Download the latest Proset utility and drivers from Intel
There is an option in the proset utility to enable wireless

btw: Welcome to the forum John

    Hello Alex,

Many thanks for the warm welcome !!!

I must have a faulty card as i can't get it to work.
The card came in a box with the original driver disc and pro set software.

It won't find no networks or connect, I have tried all manner of ways !

It seems i must just be having one of thoose days !

    Kindest Regards,
    John

If you can go into the wireless network adapter properties you might look for a tab that states enable/disable
