    PLZ HELP ....file transfer

    hi guy

    is it possible to transfer files or folders from laptop(vista) to desktop(xp) using ieee1394 connection?
    How about USB connection?

    if so...please tell me how..

    The firewire is for video signal, not for data files. As the USB is concerned and even using a cat5 cable (Ethernet cables), yes you can use them to transfer files back and forth bot computers, you just need to have the application to do so, like PCmover. But, you can also use the network to do so, just connect both computers to the Ethernet ports of the router, create a network group and make your folders to share and that's it.

    I know you can use the 1394 with a mac to transfer files, but a network cable (crossover) is the easiest if you do not have a router. If you do just run the file share wizard and setup one or both of your pc, depending if you need to do it from both.
