    So im trying to open some ports up so u can use Steam, because, whenever i try to find server on say Day of Defeat Source or Team Fortress, it doesnt seem to find alot or any servers at all

    i went to the steam website, they said i have to open up these ports:
    * UDP 27000 to 27020 inclusive
    * TCP 27020 to 27050 inclusive

    now i went into my netgear router setup page, and went to the portforwarding/triggering page, and theres a section for an ip adress area

    but the problem is i have a dynamic ip adress, and when go to the IPCONFIG page in windows, my ip shows like this 10.0.0.1, so i put that it still has no effect? what am i doing wrong?

    u have to set up a static ip address. the website he showed you will also show u how to set up a static ip. if u have more than one person on network, make ur last # something really large. instead of 1 or 2 or 3, like 134 or something
