Notice, the metal connector is slightly broken, will it affect the wireless?

Hi,

I have received my Wireless card today and notice the metal bracelet connector is slightly broken (please see pic circled in red). The last thing I would want is a slower performance/stability than my current wireless card Intel 1030n if the connector is slight broken/bent

I have not tried as I am still waiting for my tool kit to arrive. Thank you

I am concerned if this will affect the wireless performance and stability?

 

Is that a 7260 AC? Werent those cards notoriously bad for dropping connection regardless?

Looks like Intel released a revised version to mitigate as well as driver updates from what I am reading...

 

@Reciever No there was nothing wrong with 7260. Most cards and routers have multiple revisions, nothing special about that.

@Koolman511 The problem might be in connecting the card at all. The antenna connector goes over the bracelet connector so you will have to push it back in shape. If you fail to do so the antenna won't seat at all. The same will happen if you manage to brake it while trying.

 

Didnt say it was special, just that there are revisions.

I got my models mixed up, the 7260 N didnt work well at all with the y510p at the time. AC model is the desired model though some minority still had issues

 

Early connectivity issues on the 7260AC which I also had as an early adopter, were due to a combination of general driver issues and UAPSD compatibility issues with certain APs, which I also faced lol. Later drivers fixed those issues and UAPSD is now off by default on Intel drivers since that time.

There was an .R revision and it wasn’t a significant change. That’s what I recall from sfx2000 on SNB Forums who had a contact in Intel if I recall.

Thanks all, the seller has issued a refund. I am now waiting for replacement (another seller). However, further inspection, I notice it looks like stain/rust on the side (circled in red). I am not sure if the area will affect the wifi performance and/or stability?
