Tell me please, what a laptop or a whole line of work in the 5 GHz band.
preferably at a good rate of 300 or 450.

It's not about the laptop but about the card in it (which can be upgraded) and a router (that has to support 5GHz and possibly 450mbps too).
Cards that support 5GHz and 450MHz are Intel 5300, Intel 6300 and Bigfoot 1103.
Both bands but at up to 300mbps is supported by more cards- notably popular is Intel 6200.
There are also new 802.11ac cards (Intel 7 series entering the market).
You obviously need a router with corresponding abilities to run the setup at optimal speeds (see the sticky) -
There's also the Atheros AR9380 which is 450 Mbps and dual band.

Caveat Emptor
Downloads is right, however beware of the laptop manufacturers who "White list" the wireless cards in the BIOS. You may not be able to upgrade the card, unless you can purchase the card with the OEM's special stamp in/on it. HP/Compaq, Lenovo, as well as DELL, have the BIOS white list. Before you decide on a laptop, make sure it contains the wireless card you want, and can live with. It's a whole lot easier to get a machine, with the dual 2.4/5 GHz band already installed on the card, than it is to deal with a white list later on. -

My biggest complaint with Lenovo is, I can't find a Lenovo approved FRU wireless card for sale on the web. Not even from Lenovo! But this is a really a silly issue for me. I've been a big complainer, over at the Lenovo forum about the white list, and I hardly ever use the wireless.
When I do use my Intel N-1000 wireless card, I get good range, and +150 speed. That's more than enough for my needs.
Cheers!
