    Notebook Newbie - How do I connect to the Internet

    A rather generic question I know, I'm not new to computers just never ever used a laptop before. The machine I'm getting has:-

    Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI Card EUR
    UK Modem Cable and Adapter Internal V.92 Data, Fax, Voice Functions

    I have a broadband Internet connection with modem for my desktop.

    What I want to do is be able to use the same broadband Internet account ISP that I use for my desktop also for my new laptop. My question is, how do I go about doing that?

    You need to purchase a router. The router will connect to your modem, and all pc will connect to the router.

    Of course, you'll want a router that offers both wired and wireless options.

    Apologies for being clueless...

    What's involved with installing a router, are they pretty easy to set up? Would I need to install the Speedtouch drivers / software onto my new laptop. I'm really unsure how it all works?
