Is it normal for laptops to drop connection after 20-30 minutes, happens every time at uni, but when i am at the library on my old laptop, it stays connected, not sure if just Lenovo laptops do this or has something to do with newer intel cards, i read an email from my university about them installing hardware for better connections in the upcoming months for better connectivity around campus not sure if that will change anytihng, it is kind of annoying because I have to enter a password every time i disconnect, and if i am in the middle of something, i get no warning.

I wouldn't consider it normal if it constantly drops out after a certain period, I have a Lenovo notebook myself and my wireless adapter is still running for 10:31 hours straight according to my status. What wireless card do you have and what drivers are you using?

Do you get drop out symptoms when you're elsewhere (i.e. Home) or is it just at University? You could try using Intel's generic wireless drivers to see if that improve things, I used to have connection issues when using Lenovo drivers but ever since I switched to Intel's drivers I yet to have any drop out issues. You can find links to such drivers here.

Also check whether the machine is allowed to turn off the wireless card in order to save power. If the option is checked, un-check it.

started dropping again, but after i moved my seat somewhere else the dropping stopped, i am guessing it is just the connection strength
