So is it every wireless adapter can be used on my laptop? Because I really need a affordable and good 5GHz wireless adapter. I have a Thinkpad T420s, any suggestions? Thanks

You will need a T420 specific wireless adapter, you should be able to find an Intel 6200 or 6300 for the T420 on eBay. I loked into it a bit before and seems some older Lenovo adapters do not work with the T420.

is there any on Amazon? For some reason, I feel more save using Amazon...

and another question, does it make a differences on the ping when gaming? So maybe someone in the network is streaming movie and only using the 2.4GHz, I get very high ping, but if I switch to 5GHz, will it help?

I don't know if Amazon has them, you could always call Lenovo though. I have no idea of how much they'll charge you for the adapter, but it's worth trying.

For the ping, it depends if your ping issues are network related and your router can handl the simultaneous connections well, then yes it'll fix your issues. If your high ping is due to your internet connection, then no.

I think the ping issue is because of too much people on the network...

Well, if you want to make sure, try with an ethernet cable vs wireless. What router do you have by the way?
