this is getting frustrating the more i try to troubleshoot it.. maybe you guys can help me out here :(

so wireless on my notebook was working fine until i reset the router today, i did not change a thing but i think netgear did some updating on its own.. now whats weird is that other computers in the house can still find the networks via wireless (there are 2 networks btw), except my notebook it can't find any of them, which leads me to think that its not the routers problem now..

    things i've tried:

    -restarting windows
-downloading new firmware for router and driver for wireless adapter
    -rolling back all adapters
    -switching my wireless adapter on/off
    -changing power saving settings

but still no luck, the wireless light on my notebook doesn't come on again and i still can't see any access points..

does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?
i haven't changed anything except for reseting the router to begin with

please help if you can!! thanks

Make sure you have not disabled it. Look at the hardware manager and see if it listed and no problems.

Make sure its listed in hardware manager , make sure the function keys on your laptop specify that wifi is turned on... and most importantly check the wireless zero configuration service is running... also cryptographic services and event log...

yes its in the hardware manager and the driver is working fine.

i've checked those services and they are all started and automatic, except cryptographic is manual

Do you have both Intel and MS's ZC on at the same time?

Ok, go down to the icon by the clock on the taskbar. Right click and go to open network connections (May be something different if you are using Vista) and look for your Wireless Connection, then see if by the icon, if it says one of the following...
    -Not Connected/Connected/Enabled/Disabled

-if it says disabled, right click and click enable, then try again. look for update drivers too. Hope I could Help

do you have your router broadcasting your ssid? or do you have a nonbroadcasting ssid?
