I have a desktop and a laptop. Both uses windows xp. The other laptop my sister uses is Vista.

I mentioned that i did not like my Westell 6100 and Linksys WRT54 Router being in bridge mode so i asked my neighbor to help to unbridge it while having my router and modem workm.

My neighbor came over and did some changes to the settings. At this moment, i can go online through my desktop fine. I am no longer in bridge mode and have a green light on my westell 6100 modem.

I also can unplug my router and i will be online on my desktop since i am online through my westell 6100 modem.

My problem is i have a laptop that is windows xp same with my desktop. My sister has a laptop and came back this week and will stay here 1 week and she uses Vista. For some reason, if i set my wireless mode on WEP mode on my desktop, my sister's laptop can go online but my xp laptop cannot. If however, i change to WPA mode, she cannot go online but my xp laptop can.

I talked to verizon support on the phone for 2.5 hours and we cannot fix this problem. I know it has something to do with the configurations of my linksys wrt54g. Before my neighbor came, my internet was fine but it was in bridge mode and wanted him to come here to change it and unbridge it. He did a few things and verizon support helped me correct some things he did.

However, only one of the two laptops can go online at a time. Can someone tell me what can i do now? I changed the settings to WEP which according to verizon support should fix the problem but my XP laptop cannot connect online. There is nothing wrong with the password because the password i use is the phone number for the home.

Can someone please help? Also, i can only go on 192.168.2.1 to see my linksys page. I cannot go on 192.168.1.1 to check my westell settings at the moment with my router on.

Okay i can log on wireless using my neighbors wireless but not mine. Can someone help? My passcode is my 10 digit home phone number but i notice that when i check my settings i have an 8 letter code for my password. My wireless right now allow WEP and that is what im doing with my laptop but it doesn't allow me to put the 10 digit password.

I would reset your router establish that all computers will go online than put in your security settings. The eight letter code might be the pin of your router. If so it is listed on the router label. When I updated my wireless on my laptop I had to enter this.
