There are many, many forum threads in the internet regarding this issue. I think I've read most of them. :D Many people suggest going to Power Management and configuring it so the card wouldn't turn off during sleep mode. (Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power.") I did that. They also suggested to enable it so that the card would run at max performance. Did that also.

Windows also downloaded the latest network card driver for me.

I have Vista SP2 installed so I'm not sure why I'm still having this issue. Did Microsoft remedy this issue via Windows update?

(I'm trying to connect to my wireless home network with the notebook's build in Atheros card.)

I had this problem with a computer I used to have and the problem was there was a third party application preinstalled to set up and find networks plus windows does this anyway so there was a conflict. I had to uninstall that third party windows wireless locater program and let windows manage my wireless connection.

    best regards-

Windows is currently handling my wireless network. Thanks for the reply though.

could also be a driver problem, some drivers can't deal with state saves going to sleep/hibernate/standby and then waking up.

Doesn't work after hibernate too so you're probably right. Are there alternate drivers I could download? I believe I have Atheros drivers installed and have Windows managing my wireless connection.

I've also tried Window's repair feature. It sometimes works but most times, it doesn't. ("Cannot resolve problem.")
Is there software I could download that repairs connections (updates IP address)?

    Many thanks.
