Hi I installed a new hard drive with xp pro. My wirerless router uses wpa for security, the windows provides wep. I down loaded the latest driver for the wireless network card. It does not have the wpa security update.

    How do I correct this?

the install is on a t60, using intel wirerless pro abg

    thnaks, slxrti

Update XP Pro with Windows Service Pack 2 and the wpa security update should be added.

Ensure that you have installed SP2 on your machine for XP Pro. I have seen XP Pro installations balk at WPA (as opposed to WEP) if you don't install SP2 before trying to connect.

Also, if you're using the configuration software from the wireless card provider, I would try uninstalling it and using Windows' built-in wireless configuration software instead.

EDIT** Chemistry, ya beat me to it...
