Hey there, I just received my brand new HP laptop today for christmas, it works great and I love it to bits, theres just one tiny problem. Every time I turn the computer on, the wireless internet will not connect, the only time it will connect is if I press the button on my router for it to look for devices or whatever. All of the other computers in the house only had to do this the very first time they connected and from then on the button on the router was not needed, but not on this one. Does anyone know how I can get it to connect with having to press the button on the router every time I wanbt to connect to ther internet?

    thanks in advance :)

Exactly what router and notebook model do you have? Can you connect the notebook to other open networks, for example at a library or in a coffee shop?

I wouldnt know about a library or coffee shop, the router is a wanadoo livebox and the laptop is a hp pavilion dv2104eu using a Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN, i can connect to it, its just i have to press the pairing button on my router every single time I boot up and I want to connect. I have multiple other computers/laptops connected to this box and they work fine....

Can anyone help? Im pretty sure its not a software issue as ive tried another wireless client apart from the windows one and it does exactly the same so its more likely to be a hardware issue. Its like it forgets the routers informationn every time I shutdown and then bootup again even though it saves a profile as wanadoo-c7e9. Is there a setting I can change or something. I dont understand why I have to press the pairing button on my router every time I want to connect to the internet. It wouldnt be so bad, its just the router is in the shop m dad owns downstairs and it gets locked up on a night so I cant get in to press the button.

This is very annoying, none of nthe other laptops in the house do this. Also when I logged into the router settings and clicked on my devices or whatever my sisters laptops actually come up as thier names for eg Jenny and not just a number.
