I have a HP DT and two HP dv5z laptops. The DT is running Windows XP and the laptops run Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with SP1.

I have a Linksys router that has a network name and I have connected both laptops to the wireless internet. I kinda figured out how to share files / folders btw the laptops.

The DT does not have a user name / pw or any a/c created. It has a computer name and workgroup assigned. The way I got access to folders on the DT from one of the laptops is go to the folder(s) in the DT and right click and say "Sharing and Security" and then made sharable folders. Immediately, from my laptop, I was able to see the DT computer name and the folders I shared

Is there a better way to get access to the DT files / folder (infact the entire drive) from the laptops?

Also, how do I see the laptop hard drives on the DT?

Sorry if this is too much of a novice question. Thanks,

    PN

You can right click and share the entire harddrive, Permissions and such have to setup as well. Usually this is designed to share files between different users on a network. So sharing an entire hard drive isnt exactly the smartest thing to do.The other option i suggest is to build a file server or turn your desktop into a file server and have everything you want shared there.
