Hey all, just got my house a few days ago.

My dilemma is my mother -in-law doesn't use the internet (nor does she know how to use a computer), but I was able to get my ISP best package for the price of their cheapest offering. I had to sign a 2 year contract to do so but that's besides the point.

My house is literally next door, what I'd like to do is tap into the cable at her house (House A), so I can use the internet at my place. She has interlock bricks on both sides of the house, what would be the best way for me to get the service. I know using a repeater will diminish the quality of the line (150mbps) so i'd like to avoid doing that.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    A couple of things here...

You do understand that what you're planning is not really legal, because even with your mother-in-law's permission to use the service, you don't have permission from ISP to "tap" into their network...

Now that we've put that aside, what type of service are we discussing? Cable? FiOS? VDSL?

My approach would be to install a *really* nice wireless router at your MIL's house and utilize the service that way, but that's me...

    Good luck.

Agreed with ajkula66. What you're describing isn't kosher with the law. A strong wireless router is your best bet here.
