    Network problem... "ip conflict"

    Hey,
    I got Comcast cable internet, and a Netgear WGR614v2 wireless router. We got 3 computers in our house and all of them are wiresless. When we have them all on, it'll be about 15 minutes max until the internet goes down and says "ip conflict" in the lower right hand corner on 2 of the 3 computers. This only happens when I turn MY laptop on... not the other 2. Can anyone give me some help on how to solve this problem and make my internet work good again?

    Can you assign each pc a different ip address within the range provided by the router. Then you wouldn't have any conflicts.

    the reason you are getting this problem is because there are two computers on the same network with the same IP address (that's not good).

    First, make sure your wireless router is setup as a DHCP server. Then, on each of your PC's, make sure they are configured to "Automatically obtain an IP address" and also DNS addresses. You can do this by going to the TCP/IP properties for each affected network device (the wireless connection and the wired/ethernet connection)

    thanks... also, i found out that if i connected to the routher with a cable that this problem also wont occur... i'll try the wireless way soon
