Hi, I have two computers - XP desktop and Vista notebook, both connected to the router.

I can see both computers in the network.

From my XP machine, I can access the Vista folders.

From my Vista machine, I can see XP but when I try to access it, it asks for my username, domain and password of my XP computer.

I don't have a password and tried the name of the user (i.e. Administrator), name of computer, etc. No use.

How can I fix this? Many thanks for your help!

Try enabling the guest account on your XP machine.
