I have a new Acer Netbook and have it connected wirelessly to my home network. That works fine. I also have a network printer that is wired to my router and separately a printer with a print server that is also wired to my network. I have a total of 7 computers on my network and all of them are able to use the network printer and print server. However, my Netbook is only able to access those printers when I have it as a wired connection. When it's a wireless connection, it does not locate the printers. I've been trying to figure this out for hours and have not come up with a solution. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate them. BTW - I have Norton Internet Security, but I disabled it and it still doesn't work.

    EDIT

I think it may actually be a router issue. I have a Belkin N router, but I also have a separate Belkin access point. The printers work fine when I connect my Netbook to my access point, but they don't work when I connect it to the N router. It's very strange b/c my other computers don't have this problem. Any thoughts at all?

Some routers have a privacy feature that's isolates wired from wireless. Being a Belkin who knows. Just make sure you have the latest firmware and drivers.

As far as Norton, disabling it does not always work. The only way to be sure is to uninstall it, then use the seperate utility to actually uninstall it. Norton uninstaller does not uninstall the program, it only removes a few items, so it can be reinstalled very quickly. If it ever expires it used to mess the os up so bad you had to do a clean install to repair it. Norton has caused more problems than any other programs I have worked with, and I don't recommend it either. There are other that are better and require a lot less over head.

The router doesn't have any privacy function. I also reformatted the hard drive of my netbook completely and tried connecting without norton and it still wouldn't work. The strange part is that my laptop that runs Vista is able to find this printer. I'm wondering whether the router is seeing the Vista laptop as the host and will not let an XP laptop access the printer. I kind of just made this up, but is it possible that there could be something to it? If yes, is there any way to change it?

Yes, I have SP3. The saga has now continued. I decided to buy a wireless printer to see what would happen. With this printer you need to wire it via ethernet to set it up for wireless. There are two options, you can either wire it directly to the router or directly to the laptop. I first tried it through the router, but my netbook could not see the printer. I then did it directly through the netbook and it found the printer and installed perfectly and I am now able to print wirelessly. I therefore think it's some setting on the netbook, but I have no idea what to change. I'd still like to install my other printers so I really need to figure this out. Any thoughts?
